This is one of my favorite songs I've written. It was a real joy to record, especially the bass track! The vocal is a challenge, but that's part of the fun.
This tune was loosely inspired by the timeless Bozz Scaggs song, "Georgia," from the fantastic album "Silk Degrees." The narrative Georgia is from the point of view of a man in prison who has done something (we never find to what, exactly he did) and laments how much me misses his lover. In Susie, similarly, we don't know what "the protagonist" has done, but he too, dearly misses his love and expresses this while on the run. The rest of the interpretation is up to you, gentle readers. Hope you dig it!
